Accessibility Statement Information in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz, WZG)
The Labour Inspectorate is committed to making its websites accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) as amended, transposing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p.1).

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of conformance level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), due to the non-conformities listed below.

Alternative Texts for Images and Graphics
Despite ongoing reviews and revisions of the existing alternative texts, it cannot be ruled out that some images and graphics may still lack appropriate alternative text or that the alt attribute may be missing for individual images.
Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1 Non-text Content is currently not fully met.
Heading Structure
On some pages, the heading structure is not consistently implemented. As a result, content may not always be optimally structured or may be more difficult to navigate and understand for users of assistive technologies.
Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships is currently not fully met. The affected pages are being identified and progressively revised as part of ongoing quality assurance.
Tables and Zoom
Tabular content may be partially cut off when the page is displayed at an increased zoom level. As a result, such content may not be fully usable in all cases when the display is enlarged.
Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 1.4.4 Resize Text is currently not fully met.
Link Text
On some pages, identical or similar link texts are used for different destinations. As a result, the purpose of a link may not always be clear, particularly for users of assistive technologies.
Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) is currently not fully met. The affected links are being progressively revised.
Name, Role, Value
Some interactive elements currently present technical issues relating to the programmatic determination of their name, role or value.
Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value is currently not fully met. The existing technical issues are being progressively addressed as part of ongoing technical development and quality assurance.
Videos
Our videos are hosted on external platforms (YouTube, Vimeo). Some videos do not yet have audio descriptions.
Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded) is not met. Instead of audio descriptions, we plan to provide text alternatives for time-based media.
Documents that are not fully accessible
Some older PDF and Office documents are currently not fully accessible. These documents are being progressively revised, replaced or supplemented by accessible web content.
If you experience difficulties using a specific document, you can notify us via the contact details provided below. We will endeavour to provide the information contained in the document in an accessible format upon request and, where possible, to revise the document accordingly or provide an accessible alternative.
For new documents, we endeavour to prepare them to be as accessible as possible before publication, in accordance with WCAG 2.2 and the applicable requirements for accessible PDF documents.
Non-accessible documents, such as print versions intended exclusively for printing, will be appropriately labelled.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
This Accessibility Statement was first prepared on 11 September 2026.
The website’s compliance with the WZG and the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was assessed in September 2026 as part of a self-assessment based on WCAG 2.2, conformance level AA.
As part of the self-assessment, the homepage, an overview page and several article pages were reviewed, among others.
The website and its content are continuously being developed. Accessibility will therefore continue to be reviewed and improved as part of ongoing technical and editorial quality assurance.

Enforcement Procedure
If you do not receive a satisfactory response to your feedback, you may lodge a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), which is the competent complaints body.
The FFG examines complaints concerning possible violations of the requirements of the Web Accessibility Act in relation to websites and mobile applications of the federal government and entities attributable to it.
If a complaint is justified, the FFG may issue recommendations for action and propose measures to remedy the identified deficiencies.
